Gladiators outlast Vikings

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the short-handed Oslo Vikings fought tough against the Kristiansand Gladiators but ultimately fell 15-6. The Vikings left Oslo with 17 players at 7 AM to travel the 4 plus hours to play the Gladiators whom were opening a brand new stadium.
The game was defensive struggle throughout as both teams created multiple turnovers and caused much confusion for the opposing offenses. The 1st quarter saw no scoring but plenty of action. The Vikings kicked-off and forced the Gladiators to go three and out on some hard hitting. Kristiansand running their traditional smash mouth offense met a defense just as physical. The Viking offense came out in 5 wide which caught the Gladiators off-guard moved the ball down to the 30 but could not convert on 4th down to continue the drive. The rest of the first quarter saw the defenses rise to challenge and dominate the offenses. Defensively the Vikings gave no ground and on offense they had trouble completing passes.

Seniors

On a rain-soaked Saturday, the Eidsvoll 1814s showed why they are one of the top teams in Europe. The Vikings fell to the 1814s 32-14 in a game that was much closer than the score indicated.

NOTE: The memory card the pictures from the game was on shorted out two of the photographers cameras, so there won't be any pictures from the game. We are terribly sorry.

In a back-and-forth game, the Oslo Vikings final comeback came up just 4 yards short. QB Howard Bouldin's errant pass fell to the ground on fourth down and the Coventry Jets ran out the clock to win the game. With the victory the Coventry Jets won EFL European Football League / Eurobowl Division 3 and secured the final quarterfinal spot and will face the Swarco Raiders Tirol in Innsbruck, Austria on May 10. The Vikings will have to wait at least one more year in the club's attempt to advance out of EFL group for the first time in its history.
